TRAVERSE BAY AMATEUR RADIO EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS GROUP
More Information is available at http://www.TBARG.org
The Traverse Bay Amateur Radio Emergency Communication Group (TBARG) is a newly formed group of amateur radio operators with an active interest in providing emergency radio communications in the Northwest Lower Michigan Area. The group is centered in Grand Traverse County but has members from several surrounding counties. While the Cherryland Amateur Radio Club is highly supportive of TBARG and many members of TBARG belong to the CARC, membership in the CARC is not required.
The goals of the group are to provide emergency communications whenever needed in our area, assist other areas that may need emergency communications and train TBARG members in the proper handling of emergency traffic and emergency communications. In addition, the group will assist members in selecting and assembling equipment for both mobile and base communications. The group will be headed up by Ernie Abel K8RCT and Jim Palmer K8OJP.
